Wonderful Day

I’m writing this on the Monday after our 125 th Anniversary celebration and I’m still in a state of
amazement. It was a wonderful day, and it exceeded my expectations. What a great crowd…and that
says a lot about this church. Over the years so many people have been blessed and many lives changed.
I know one thing for sure…the Bluff Park Community is a better place because of this church over the
years and we are still a powerful influence for the Gospel and a great witness of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Although a lot of energy and very hard work was put into the two days, this was not just a two-day
event. We will celebrate our 125 th anniversary all year long. It’s going to be a year of enthusiasm, joy,
fellowship…and more than that…worshipping and praising the Lord on this mountain. Continue inviting
folks, keep in touch with our visitors, and continue praying that the Lord’s hand will be on us.
One reason I think that the two days was so successful is that we all worked together. There was a lot of
very hard work put in and most everyone was willing to do whatever was necessary to get it done. As a
result, there was fun and fellowship in the work. That always brings people together. I offer a very
special thanks to the 125 th Anniversary Committee of Kaye Davis, Judy Knight, Angie Barber, Tillie Powers
and Acyenith Alexander and I also thank all who did crafty stuff, helped set things up, and cooked for the
fantastic lunch. I know our visitors were impressed and the Lord was glorified in your work.
Say good things about your Savior and His church on this mountain!
